About Us
Culture and TEK
Indigenous groups throughout the world, including the Tulalip Tribes, have incorporated and implemented ecological knowledge developed through an intimate reciprocal relationship between themselves and the land, waters and biota of their home. This understanding is referred to as Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). Place-based knowledge and respect in relationship to ecosystem management is an integral part of Tulalip culture. The Qwuloolt Project represents an opportunity for the Tulalip Tribes and surrounding community to connect with the Snohomish Estuary that coincides with traditional ways of stewardship and sustenance.
